Salmon, Tiger Nuts and Dandelions are the hot topics of Episode 6 of Channel 4’s fascinating series that investigates the health benefits of superfoods next Monday. Kate Quilton has been busy finding out about a wide range of foods. and superfoods.

So, what is a ‘superfood’? A superfood is a nutrient-rich food considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being. In today’s market there are many claims and much marketing hype about what is and isn’t a superfood. Kate’s investigations on Channel 4 are helping to sort the hype from fact. We don’t know for sure but we think that Kate might be testing tiger nuts and showing  how good for gut health and weight control they are.

We are especially excited as Kate is visiting one of the farms in Valencia which grows the very special Chufa de Valencia, and you will be able to see how they are grown and dried.  Chufa de Valencia are a regulated,  artisan tiger nut only grown , and farmed in 16 towns around the area known as L’Horta Nord (or the Northern fertile land) which surrounds Valencia. We are the only  company in the UK who sell these special Valencian tiger nuts!

TigerNuts are such a versatile food, so easy to eat and delicious. They are used to make the traditional Spanish drink horchata, or tiger nut milk. They can be eaten raw or cooked, and are a perfect prebiotic gut boosting start to the day  in a superfood breakfast bowl!

So make sure you don’t miss this episode which airs at 8.30 on Monday 1st August, where we are confident that Kate will be telling you how good Tiger Nuts are for you , and  we think  she will be placing Tiger Nuts as one of the top genuine superfoods on her list!
