We all need a little extra energy at times and these balls are a great way to boost energy pre or post workout or for an afternoon pick me up. The recipe here was created by the lovely Camille Malvestiti, founder of Paint it Green Cuisine Végétale in Paris.

These gorgeous little energy balls are a perfect healthy snack, packed with nutrients, fibre and protein. They contain guarana, which is thought to be more effective than coffee with regards to its energizing power and providing sustained energy. They are small (you can eat them in a couple of bites !), and they help to give a boost of energy before or after a workout or they replace your normal snack during a working day.

Here’s the recipe for about 8 to 10 balls of 25- 30 grams each

Ingredients :

  • 150 gr dates
  • 50 gr raw, unsalted almonds
  • 50 gr tiger nut flakes
  • 4 teaspoons cranberry powder
  • 4 teaspoons raspberry powder
  • 1 teaspoon guarana powder

Method

Using a blender, mix the almonds until you have quite a fine meal.

Then add all the other ingredients and mix until you have a smooth texture.

Shape into 8-10 small balls and let them rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

For the coating, mix 2 teaspoons almond meal with 1 teaspoon berries powder and roll the balls evenly in the mixture.

Keep refrigerated and eat within 2-3 days
